After graduating with a First-Class Honours in BA Public Relations, Mel gained a wealth of experience working at some of London’s top PR agencies including Hill + Knowlton Strategies, Fleet Street Communications and Roche Communications. Specialising in the world of food, drink and hospitality, her client list spanned Bacardi Global Brands, Diageo Reserve, Carlsberg, The York Roast Co., Mondelez, McCormick, The ONE Group, Youngs, Street Kitchen and Brasserie Bar Co., to name just a few.
With a decade of PR experience under her belt, Mel founded M:RAW Communications in 2018 to provide a personable PR and communications service, without the costs that are often associated with larger PR agencies.
At M:RAW Communications, Mel is London and European PR lead for FoodBytes! By Rabobank – the global pitch competition and networking event which scours the globe to find the most cutting-edge foodtech, agtech and CPG start-ups focusing on people, profit and planet. Mel is also the PR mentor for FoodBytes!, guiding competing start-ups on how they can best maximise PR opportunities for their business. In addition, she takes on the role of Communications Manager for famed British street food stalwarts, The York Roast Co. and oversees all client accounts, leading a supportive team of talented freelance communications specialists.
We’re a remote agency spearheaded by our Founder and Director, Melanie Rawlings. We mingle with like-minded start-ups in our co-working space at Impact Hub, King’s Cross, but love to be on the move, keeping our creative juices flowing and ensuring no two days are the same. Without the pricey overheads, we’re able to keep our fees realistic and work with brands we’re truly passionate about. Start-ups and entrepreneurs are at the forefront of ground-breaking innovations in the food and drink space and we want to be right there with them, celebrating every milestone and success.
